The Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University invites applications from outstanding political scientists with a specialization in American political institutions for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor. The department is committed to building an intellectually vibrant, culturally inclusive, and academically diverse community of exceptional faculty. The appointment is open with respect to empirical approach. We will give priority to important research that builds synergies within the department, and across other units at Vanderbilt University.

We are especially interested in receiving applications from scholars of American political development and/or public policy, to help facilitate bridges between the
Department of the Political Science and the Department of History, and/or the Public Policy Studies Program at Vanderbilt, respectively. Candidates able to assist in graduate training in quantitative methods or formal theory should indicate those competencies.

Qualifications
The appointment will begin Fall 2021. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. The Committee will begin reviewing files as early as November 9, 2020.
