The Department of Political Science invites applications for a three-year, non-tenure track position as Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor in Political Science to start Fall 2020. We seek candidates who are able to teach a broad range of in residence and online introductory and upper-level political theory and American politics classes. The position requires teaching six courses a year. Candidates should have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by the appointment date, though qualified applicants at the ABD level will also be considered. In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity. Lecturers/Assistant Teaching Professors participate extensively in the intellectual life of the department, including opportunities to attend seminars and workshops, and present research. Salary is competitive and additional money is available for travel and research.
