The Department of Political Science of the University of California, Riverside, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Black Politics.
The search is open with respect to field and we welcome strong candidates whose research and teaching addresses any substantive area of Black Politics within or outside the U.S. context. We are open to a range of theoretical and methodological approaches. The successful candidate should be committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education and have a record or promise of research publication. A Ph.D. in Political Science or related field or discipline is required at the time of appointment. Ph.D. Candidates who are ABD at the time of application will be considered. Appointment level and salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2022.

Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.
Faculty in the University of California are expected to engage in research, teaching and service. Typical course load is four classes over the academic year.
